Looking after the land that has sustained generations, is important to our operations today. Our commitment is brought to life through our sustainability program.

Winery focus on soil health, water conservation, and enhancing the ecology in our vineyards. From our inter-row cover crop planting, which helps to prevent soil compaction and introduces valuable nutrients to the land, to spreading grape marc back into our vineyards, to grazing sheep in our vines during the winter season, and using smart technologies to ensure our water use is minimal, we always look for new ways to look after the natural resources of the land.

• Winery’s glass bottles are recyclable
• Winery use over 150,000 PET(Polyethylene Terephthalate) recyclable bottles a year. Their production has a lower CO2 impact on the environment

Sustainability is in our DNA. From the way we’re improving our soils and the way we run our winery through to our harmonious relationship with partners like traditional owners, academic institutions and the NSW Government, caring for nature is to our core.

THE PROOF POINTS

• ISO-accredited environmental management practices for winery operations.
• Substantial number of water-saving initiatives in place, point source water screening, wastewater recycling and reuse, and vineyard water efficiency programs.
• Long term use of onsite renewable energy that has avoided over 1000 Tonnes of CO2e emissions and the equivalent of over 95,000 trees.
• 100% recyclable materials used in all new vineyard development trellising, including over 200,000 steel posts for repairs.
• Formed a harmonious sustainable relationship with land winery operates on through seeking environmentally focussed partnerships with traditional owners, government agencies, academic institutes, and the broader community.
• Winery have also partnered with the NSW Government on the installation of 2 fish screens on our Wentworth 3 vineyard, this initiative will save millions of litres of water, energy, CO2 and critically, extensive amounts of fish and larvae will remain in the river unharmed.
